I was wondering who else has the same background as me...
My mum was born in S.Africa, my dad was born in Switzerland and I was born in Canada. But both my grandparents are from Switzerland. So what nationality would I mostly be? ( Besides Canadian)

Here in Europe, the place of birth does not matter at all. Nobody gets the nationality of the place born like it would be in the US and probably Canada.

If the parents are Swiss, the child is Swiss as well - and if one parent is Swiss and the other is German, the child would get both passports (if applied for by the parents).

Mostly Swiss, but what kind of Swiss? Some are French speaking some are Italian speaking, some are German-Swiss speaking and some speak a national language the name of I have forgotten. Its more of a ethnic identification than a nationality. You are a Canadian by birth.

"both" grandparents? you have 4 of them. And 8 gr grandparents. 16 gr gr grandparents. If ALL of these are from Switzerland, that is your background, since you are an equal "percentage" of each ancestor. That remains true, no matter where you are born. Your birthplace is your citizenship. Apples and oranges.
