I think I may have bipolar. I'm going to see a psychiatrist on Friday but I'm having a lot of trouble getting thru some days. I go from one extreme to another. I go from being decently happy to wanting to die within say a couple hours. I work full time and I"m having trouble staying focused and not flipping out on people. I tend to wear a mask during the day and normally at around a certain time at night, I feel liek a totally different person. Tonight I felt like really strange. I mean lately I always feel really frustrated like nobody gets it, but tonight I felt confused, and like everything was spinning around me. I didn't really feel alive, I felt like I was here on earth but my emotions were totally dead. Like I couldn't feel pain or heat or coldness. I don't know if I can last til I'm supposed to see my doctor. I can't really afford to miss work but right now I don't know what to do. I feel excited about a new day but at the same time I just want to OD. No one gets it.

I get it, I'm bipolar x 7 years diagnosed-- actually you usually are all your life but the symptoms don't become obvious until you start experiencing extreme stressors--you sound like you are definitely on the edge- please call 911 right now and talk to a counselor -- I KNOW what it is like to teeter/totter- up/down and you are dangerously close to doing something because you are not medicated yet-- so please call- or go to your local ER- they will get you the help you need--- you wouldn't be on here asking us knowing you have a doc appt coming up if you didn't think you needed help right now, so please go to the ER or call 911 and talk to the mental health counselor they will connect you to--please-please-please---you are on the edge......

Go See Your Doc. Tell His Sec It Is An Emerg and You Need Him
I have known several people who were bi polar. It is a seriously challenging illness. There are are the mood swings, the depression, the feeling of being strung so tight you feel you will snap.
One met the right man, moved to a remote island and had babies and made a good career for herself as a belly dancer. It was a hard road and she still has tough moments, but this was her solution.
Others do medications. It is a difficult road to find the right chemical balance for an individual but it can be done. I was in love with a man who was bi polar. He did not start meds until he was in his 50's. For him it was too late. Depression finally got him. Most people find a good balance with a bit of trial and error.
What is more important? Your life or your job?
Phone your doctor in the morning and stress that this is an emergency. Ask to come in right away. I have been on the edge too. Do something Now Please.

In patient treatments work very well with those who have bipolar disorder. You may not get leave with pay, but you employer can not fire you for medical reasons. Speak with your Dr. about checking in. Sometimes, time away from the world to work solely on dealing with any form of mental illness is what is needed.

There is hope and help. I've been DX for 4 years now and been in treatment for most of my life. The first it I tried to end my life was at age 10. It was not until I saw a councilor that willing to suggest I see a Pdoc to get meds did those thoughts subside I was 22 at the time. If your feel that you are going to harm yourself you should seek help ASAP. 911 or look in your ins hand book for emergence mental heath help. Many hugs and please feel free to e-mail if you want to talk. There is hope remember that please.

I like you to know that my wife is bi-polar and how she gets thou life is first: She sees her psychiatrist every 3 months and stays regular by taking her prescriptions that her psychiatrist recommends. If you are bi-polar know that you have a chemical imbalance in your brain and the only way to straighten it all out and be normal is to take your Med's regularly. If your doctor gives you something that don't seem to work tell him immediately. because my wife told me it took many months and even years to find the right combination of presumptions before she felt normal. In addition, me and my wife are Christians we believe know matter what life gives us that we believe in God and Jesus to help us through it! I have battle through just depression and my wife like you know is bi-polar and the one thing me and her agree on is that what really turned our lives around before we met each other was these three things: 1. Knowing that God and Jesus Loved us and that we knew we were valued! 2. Knowing we had people on our side at church, in our social life and in our family that cared about us! and 3. We both had to get ourselves out of the atmosphere that we were in! If all you do is stay in the darkness thinking about how it is never going to get better and think why life is not worth living. Than your going to be proving yourself right and it will not get better! But, if you build a personal relationship again with other people and most importantly a relationship with God! Then you will see yourself back with a renewed joy! Know what the bible says about depression: We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed! (2 Cor. 4:8-9)God said: Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired and weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who HOPE in the Lord will RENEW THEIR STRENGTH! (Isa 40:28-31,41:10,Ps.50:15)
I would not be telling you this if I had not experienced what you feel myself! Know God loves you, and He wants to come into your life and give you a joy and peace that you could never experience any other way. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you" John 14:27. God created you, and God loves you. His only Son, Jesus Christ, loved you so much that he gave His life on the cross so you could be saved and break free from in perfectness, sin and this depression to become a child of God. Give Jesus all your worries and burdens. When you accept Jesus Christ into your life, something wonderful and supernatural happens. God Himself comes to dwell within you! You become part of His family, and you can know the joy of His presence every day. Pray right now and I encourage you to invite Jesus into your heart, ask him to help you find the right combination of prescriptions if you are indeed diagnosed as bi-polar which only a doctor can tell you! I to will be praying for you sister because I was too once where you are now and the only way am still alive is because my faith and trust in Jesus saved me and he showed me the better life I could be living if only I put my faith and trust in Him. I encourage you to read a bible right now! start with the gospel of John! There you will find a story of a man named John the Baptist the paved the way for another man named Jesus that loves you and will bring you guidance and hope to your life, if you look to him and follow him for your life's answers instead of yourself! I can't stress enough how I know what your going though and you really need a change of atmosphere in your life, get out of the darkness and try to meet new people! A lot of Church's have small groups and support groups! So, I would encourage you to do that because it wasn't till I started putting Jesus first before myself that my life started to get better, I had a whole new image of myself and I started to see how much I was really loved and valued in God's eyes. I leave you with a passage from the bible that started to pull me out of the darkness and into the light: TRUST in the Lord with ALL of your heart and lean NOT on your own understanding; in ALL your ways ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, and he will make all your paths straight. Prov. 3:5-6. I would like to recommend two great books to you for finding purpose in your life: 1. Joel Osteen: You Best Life Now: 2004 and 2. Rick Warren: The Purpose Driven Life: 2002. Now I encourage you to Go ahead right now, this minute, cry out to Jesus! ask him to lead your heart so you may trust him that everything will be all right and the next step you take will be right in line with what he wants for you in life, and what life is suppose to be like in serving him! In Jesus Name Amen
In addition my wife's email is stacey4lm@yahoo.com, Her name is Stacey if you need farther guidance and help if the doctor does or doesn't diagnose you as bi-polar but, I would encourage to to seek a doctor first to find out so you can take the necessary steps to living a good and prosperous life!
