Personally I think Rockford sucks, unless you go to their comp series. Cerwin Vega is top notch if you listen to rock, not the best for producing lower frequency bass. For Bass and clarity Kicker rules, the competition series is the best. I also like Audiobahn for the money, they are perfect...... I like alot of different music, but when I play rap or R%B if the speakers cant handle the lows it really sucks. I have 2 dual voice coil Audiobahn 12's in the trunk with 2 Clarion 400 watt amps and I cant even focus my eyes when I turn the music past half way. Do not go to Walmart to get speakers, you will be very disappointed. Different speakers will play different genres better than others. Call a couple of local stereo shops and ask what speakers are the best for your type of music.

Though I'm a JL fan, The Rockford Fosgate Puch P1 has out performed JL in every thing but the W7($800 for a 12"). I just installed a pair in an F150, $150, and takes the air clean out of your lungs... If thats still too high on pricing, Go for the blue 12" Pioneers at wal-mart. Only like $70 each and are just about there with the Rockfords. Happy bumpin!

I have to go with Sparky348 on this one..I have two 12" sony xplods in a banpass box with a 600W two channel amp and it sounds pretty damn good. And there only $60-$65 at wal-mart..

kicker competition/cvr series is the best bang for your buck. or also any JL subwoofer is good (the pricier the better but even their low end models are still good). I had 2 Alpine type R subs in my car and i loved them but they werent really loud but were very clear. i reccomend them also but theyre pricey (i got hooked up so thats why i got them)

"You get what you pay for" is so overplayed....

I can take the worst, cheapest subs and put them in a well designed enclosure and beat the pants off of good, expensive subs in a crappy enclosure both using the same amp.. It's all in the enclosure...
