Hey, if you're a guy going to prison, the first thing you need to do is cut your hair if it's long. If you are a big guy, people won't bother you much, the frail, weaker looking men are ofter sought out by those who would rape the weak. They will often times offer friendship while they are trying to set you up to be someones B-----, (Girl) I am not at all prejucide, but it is a statistic that most of the rapes in mens prisons are committed by black men. B-----, (Girl)
Start working out right away. Don't hang out with gangs. Try not to give the impression that you are scared. Don't go killin' anybody, it will only get you more time in that stinkin place, don't beat anyone up either, you could be put in the hole, or lose your visits. Don't let anyone beat you up either. Don't tell anyone anything that anyone else says, in other words, mind your own business.
If you know the Lord, ask for his protection, if you don't, you should get to know him, and seek out the strongest Christian in the unitl. Many times they will approach you and tell you they are on a Christian unit. Don't borrow anything from anyone...pay back is triple or at least double.
I have worked with prisoners, not as a guard, either.....feel free to e-mail me if you want more detailed information.
By the way, I personally know of several people, none of whom I am related who went to prison for crimes they did not commit, sometimes it's being at the wrong time at the wrong place, not necessarily that you didn't do anything wrong.

I don't know what prison you might be going into but you pull that in a texas prison and one of two things will definetly happen.
1st, upon coming through the gate you are an outsider, while your shanking some guy or trying to box with him, ONE of his Family will KILL YOU!! or 2nd, you'll become somebodys B***h!, If you go in and just handle yourself like a man, you shouldn't have any problems unless your GANG RELATED, and none of your cliche is there.

Being prior law enforcement, I would say don't end up in prison. However, if I did? I would find the biggest baddest guy I could and as soon as I could get him to start something with me, I would put foot to a$$ most rickey-tick.

No, not true, however what is true is if you have been acussed of and convicted of being a "child molester" you will get the CRAP beat out of you as even a "murderer" hates a child molester. They will do whatever it takes to get a hold of a child molester-and will give them a thrashing of their life and leave you for dead-----a WELL DESERVED Beating.
