Apply a little oil to the dough before packing in a plastic bag or air tight container. When you want to use remove it from the fridge half an hour before use or put it in a micro for 30 sec to 1 min. depending on the quantity.

1.Chapati dough should be kept in an airtight box in the refrigerator.
2. Take it out 15 minutes before you want to roll out chapatis.
3. Just moisten your hands with a little water and oil before making the chapatis and knead the dough a little.

either take out the dough half an hour before making the chapati or take out the dough and microwave it for 30 sec. in case u dont have a microwave place the dough in a steel tiffin. place the lid and put the tiffin in boiling water, for just 5minutes. the dough will be as soft as fresh.

Why do you refrigerate it.
Make it and use it up, refrigerate the chapati in a zip lock or air tight box.
Microwave it for use or (use toaster, break in to half, fold it once more, do not crease it put it in the toaster, open end up).

Always store your dough in an airtight container or covered with wet muslin cloth to avoid the hard layer and keep it fresh for a longer period.

It normally does. You have to mildly nead it up with a moist hand
before use.
