waving my GUY hair?

i have straight hair, its pretty long, im thinking of waving some sides, if i want a iron, what do i get, curling iron? and why curling, isn't it for curling?

OK HERES THE REAL QUESTION. SHOULD I GET A CURLING IRON TO GET MY HAIR WAVY?
