I got some ethernet cards from a friend, they were pulled from working machines. I put it into a newer machine then what they were, but its still way old, its p3 866mhz. Now, I put Linux into the system, but to access the internet I need to have an ethernet hookup. (I previously tried to get a driver when XP was installed, but it couldn't find one.) So, is there a program that can Identify the card so I can find a driver for it? Or how do I get one?

XP should have loaded a driver for it. it will tell the type of card it is on it and then you can get the drivers from driversguide.com.

If you still have Xp look under
Start> Run> MSinfo32> Components> Network> Adapter
It the right hand frame you should have the NIC listed.
