If you are studying to become Japanese your DNA may be a bad quality, but if you are of Japanese decent, then that would be a good quality, but then the question is why study to become Japanese.

Would you care to explain more? Do you mean a student who's learning Japanse (maybe as a foreign language), or a kid who's lived in Japan all his life and whose whole education is done there?
