Explication of poetry?
I have to do a typed 350-500 word paragraph over two separate poems. I have such a hard time dragging on the meaning of a poem. Any ideas or suggestions to keep it flowing?

A poem... is not about what, but is about how.... thats why everything can be a poem.... but concentrate on this....the way of it....and not what is all about. The "how" is important. And this "how", I mean the methode of writing can be very varied, all of kinds. A poem is something special. To say something in a special way. Doesnt matter what. But the way counts... A poem is the special view of a poet, and he or she share the view with you...these are special, the poems are the antithesis of banality. There are something unique and special, and very very personal.
But these are not enough to a poem. This way you shoul write randomly words, and it would be special, but without any value.
Poets always support and present some values in their poems. What are those values? Thet can be esthetic values, like beauty. Or moral values... like goodness, innosence. I hope you get some help with these ideas to understand poems.
