I would paint the room a light grey or light sage green. (get some chips from the store and tack them to the wall to test.)
Comforter should have at least 3 of the room colors. (mauve, white and.......)
Window, pick the carpet color for the shades, but lighter on the curtains. (white ??? plain)
Plain, small prints are easier to live with in a small room than large prints...(or no prints..such as squares, circles, triangles, etc..)

Try visiting the library or bookstores(my favorite) to study the home decorating books and magazines to get ideals. Or try studying the predominant colors in your desired or existing furniture and decorating accents such as lamps, pictures, vases, bookshelves, and bed covers. Hopefully you will find a color that will go with all those items. If still stuck, go to Sherwin Williams, Home Depot or Lowes or any paint seller that has loads of paint sample cards, and take all the paint sample cards that catch your fancy. Take turns taping them to your wall and see how you like those shades during the day and evening. Once you narrowed down the choices, go back and see if you can get those sample paints in the 2 or 3 oz jars and paint a sample board (white poster board or white cardboard box from grocery store) to see a bigger sample to help you make a final decision. Hope this helps....

You should paint the room a lighter color since the room is small. Think along the lines of pastels, creams, and bright
colors. The comforter should be complementary to the
walls. Ex: beige and tan.
