Ive been in some fast cars but I just got my car finished the way I wanted it to be. the car is quicker than I ever could expect I thought my combo would give me 245 HP but it doesn't feel anything like that its more. This is what I have 1986 mercury capri with stock 86 short block with no valve releifs, 78 302 heads for more compression ratio and better head, summit stage 2 intake manifold, 600 CFM edelbrock carb, stock roller cam, 15/8 shorty headers, 2.25 H pipe no cats, flowmaster exhaust and not running the smog pump. Also I have the King cobra clutch assembly, solid motor mounts, 5 speed and 3.73 gears for my rear. I know Ive listed allot but please try to give me a estimate on HP Im curious to the max. This car is no joke its scares the living crap out of me

86 came with the E6 heads. my 78 are 62 cc and a better head than the E6.

sounds like a great setup. probably cost u some money too. but i hope youll never have to take that car in for emissions tests.

200hp tops. Those 78 heads are the worst SBF heads made aside from the 255 and 221 heads. You lost compression with those heads, they have the hugest Chambers of any small block head at 69cc's. Bolt some E7's on for a 20hp upgrade, thats it. Your engine is nearly stock as far as an 85 302 HO is concerned and you have worse heads. The reason it seems fast is because of your gears, thats it.
