The name of Jesus is a hybrid name that was put together by christo-pagans, NOT by YHWH and NOT by Torah Observant followers of Yeshua. The name of Jesus exemplifies the seduction of Greeks back into the all too familiar Hellenistic icon of Zeus.
Pronnounced hey-zeus as Europeans still do.
Let's face it, a Greek person who follows the Jewish Messiah is not going to be very popular among their own people, therefore the early christo-pagans syncretized their own paganism with the Jewish Mashiyach, and smoothed the road.
SO....His name was Yeshua. Jesus is NOT a Holy name.
What does Yeshua mean in English then, if its not Jesus??

"Jesus" is actually Yahushua; it means "Yah is Salvation: or "Yah Saves."
Interesting are the Hebrew words we find in the old scriptures
We all know the verse beginning with:
"For unto us a child (yeled - a young boy) is born.....
and ends with..
....The passion (qinah - the intense feeling, energy, deep devotion, and enduring love) of Yahuweh (YHWH), of the assembled servants (tsaba’ - Yahuweh’s spiritual messengers (a.k.a. angels)), will accomplish, produce, and perform this work (‘asah - will fashion and achieve this effect and offering) as ‘Yshayah’el (a compound of ‘el, God, hayah, existing as, and ‘ysh, man)!" "(God existing as Man)" (Yasha’yahu/Isaiah 9:7)
If you are checking, you won’t find "’Yshayah’el" written in any English translation, but it’s there, sure as life, in all of the 2,000-year-old Isaiah scrolls found in Qumran. And it’s not that the translators don’t know that ‘Yshayah’el was the culmination of Scripture’s most profound Messianic prophecy, or that they don’t know that ‘Yshayah’el is a name, and not a word.

The claim that the form Yeshua is the original name for Jesus is debatable. The English name Jesus derives from the Late Latin name Iesus, which transliterates from the Koine Greek name Ἰησοῦς Iēsoûs.

You are correct, his Hebrew name would have been Yeshua (Joshua), possibly Yehoshua, we don't really know for sure. Jesus was actually his Greek name.
Which is kind of funny how people make such a big deal of using the name Jehovah, because we don't really know for sure what the exact pronunciation was --- yet they speak of Jesus freely when it too is simply the most widely accepted name for Christ.

First of all, you need to go lie down until your anti-psychotropic drugs kick in.
Next, the name "Jesus" means "Joshua". I learned it in Baptist sunday school when I was 8 years old. It's hardly news.
Third, the name "Jesus" is simply the translation of the word Joshua into Greek. There will be differences in translation in any language. It wasn't due to 'christo-pagans, " LOL!
Buy a copy of Halley's Bible Handbook and save yourself some trouble.

To be specific, Jesus means "Yahweh's Savior".
As if you would know anything about what happened in the early church.
Why not read the original writings of the early church fathers, and see what they had to say, instead of making things up?
And where do we find the "sinner's prayer" in the Bible?

I believe that you are picking at a point that does not need to be picked at. Jesus doesn't really care that we say Jesus instead of what you think his name should be spoken as. Romans 14, I believe, would cover this quite well. If it is important to you to be correct, absolutely correct, great, go for it, but leave others alone about it, as they should do for you as well.

Yep -its's Joshua - using the nameing system of the time he would have been called Joshua Ben Joseph. Jesus is just Hellenics thinking they are clever - Jesus - he'sZues...ie. Man/God
