you mentioned "in your apartment or house" - I'll assume you are an adult. In that case - nothing on the walls that requires anything other than a "hook" to hang it.
Please, hang low - people have this thing about hanging pictures high - no no don't - hang low.

I'm 26 and I still have posters hanging up. I plan on eventually framing them so they look more artsy and less commercial. But I love posters. I think it is individual. Now I do keep the posters in the family room. Pictures of my son and family and my art is in my living room. So, in short, if you want posters, hang em up. I don't think it ever becomes socially unacceptable, but when you are finally out on your own, then maybe its time to move them to less public areas. Say a den or family room. Just my two cents.

nah I CM Punk or Stone chilly poster would be cool. yet do no longer over do it...except that's the Divas...then circulate nuts. And besides the fact which you do do no longer positioned a Hornswoggle one up! i'd say in case you go with a GF then are not getting too nerdy. i admire WWE to boot, yet i ended putting posters while i replace into like 12. lol

Depending on how nice you make them look, and the maturity of content of the poster, I would say it NEVER goes out of style.
But if you are worried about wanting them to look more mature, find a nice, but cheap, frame in a neutral color (brown, black) and hang them on the walls that way.
Also consider finding posters that are actually reprints of art that you like, and framing those. That way you still get a nice look, it's starting to look more mature because you're incorporating art, and you can still afford it.
PS. A tip my husband and I have incorporated is to find a calendar with nice pictures and rip them out and frame those. You can usually find nice looking ones for cheap at the Dollar Store/Dollar General/etc. We also use our color printer to create cute photo scenes with family.

I have several posters in my home, maxfield parrish and louis icart poster prints..mostly art posters. they are all framed in poster frames, (the kind with the springs in the back)- have what makes you happy, whatever pleases you. I am 42, not exactly socially acceptable..but I love my home..love my posters and if someone else didn't like it then they can feck off because they do not live here and I do not have to please them

It depends on the posters and if they are framed. I'm all grown up (LOL) have a framed poster from the show "Rent" in my living room.

You can keep hanging them up, but put nice frames around them. Anything that isn't worth framing, get rid of it.

When you decide that settling down and having a family (dating to find a wife) are important things... you will change your mind. Everybody does sometime. I did at about 23 or 24.

I think it's a matter of your personal taste. As you get older, I think you'll naturally want to put something else up there!
