A nice heartfelt thank you card is more than enough. Most parents expect their children to blow the first one. Your success is all they want for you.

You and your question has won the hearts of many. I am sure your parents must be very proud of you. You could hand them over the whole salary as a gesture of your love for them. If they return it, you could purchase little gifts for all those you love in your family and save the rest. If they keep your salary, just feel good. Your a winner any way.

If you are coming to your family with the first salary, keep the entire salary in the hands of your parents and seek their blessings. If you are away from them, you inform them about your first salary and seek their opinion what you should do with your first salary.

Agree broadly with VP K. You may also bring home sweets, which is customary with good tidings in India or take your family to a treat in a decent eatery. You may also think of buying some clothes for your family members if your salary permits. Think of giving unique presents to family members e.g. a copy of Bhagvad Geeta for your aged nani and things like that.

Don't blow your salary, but bow to your parents with your salary and get their blessings.
