couldnt sleep. her mother suggested she went to the hospital or a doctor and she did. when she got there, it seems, she started attacking people and yelling out, just gonig nuts, so they restrained and sedated her. shes been in the hospital since. at first she could respond somewhat to others, but would have her "episodes", as if someone else were there, just out of the norm acting. now she jsut bites her lip and can barley open her eyes. she cant walk on her own and can barley speak. she has to wear a diaper. there is a history of schitzophrenia in her family. any know what it could be? female, early 20's

She may have been a victim of rape or sexual abuse, and she did not know how to respond to the trauma.
When you say "stressed out for a reason", it might just have happened. Some men/boys may have misinterpreted her outgoing personality for something else.
Is there anyone she can trust? If she is bottling it all in and not trusting anyone nor confiding in anyone , she will eventually act the way she is doing now.
Investigate, and get to the bottom of the whole thing. She may be a victim of crime.

Sounds like a stroke. Or perhaps damage to her frontal lobe. It could be schitzophrenia, since it's in her family. Have the doctors not said anything?

Sure as hell doesn't sound like schizophrenia to me.
Sounds organic, ie not psychiatric, if she was previously fairly normal and outgoing.
I'd be pretty concerned about encephalitis, meningitis, that sort of thing, affecting the brain.
I presume they've scanned her head?
Best of luck with that.
