The United States. Democratic status. Was the source of the controversy at Valley Forge. The founding fathers were democratic. The people who wanted a republic almost starved the entire American army out to prove their point. Then it was set up as a democracy for the people and Thomas Jefferson ended up speaking a lot about it. Then these losers called the puratins came in, representing the republic (big businesses). They fought for almost 100 years to reverse the constitution and all the equal rights stuff. Now you see it, they still try to make it a nazi or king james state. But most of what they have done is public. Because of their joker mentality, now many huge financial industry based entities have more power then people and actually contradict what America stands for. America is supposed to be a democracy, but because of the corrupt idiots who took unrestrained actions. Some things like the federal government. Even though they are a corporation. As a ruling body. It's just a mish mash of good people and dirty people who support business over people.

Can we goose step all over the place? Do you know one of the most famous Christian dictators in history? Adolf Hitler. Never again, we need to get further away from having religion in any part of society. Keep your religion to yourself and out of my life, my house, etc. Christians are too aggressive in pushing themselves and their morals and beliefs on others as is, let alone that crap. What about having an atheist theocratic dictatorship? That would be way better.

No rights. No respect for other religions. America would become just as bad as all the countries in the Middle East that people like to use as an example for how bad Islam is. You think Iran is bad? America would be the same if not worse.

Besides, politics are immoral and religion should have no place in them. When you mix politics and religion you get chaos and death.

Church and state should be separate because religion is a choice not a law. Government runs on laws; religion is between an individual and God. No man should, nor can, dictate to another's conscience. Religious freedom is what America was founded on. Our forefathers came here to escape the religious persecutions of Europe. If you want to see what a potent cocktail religion and government make when they are mixed, study the Dark Ages.

Some of the answerers here have just proved their paranoia.Christians don't want a theocracy. They don't want to force perople to convert or die. They don't want to gaol non-Christians or force businesses to stay open. They,of course, want human rights.
Honestly,it would be a lot more productive to focus on the real problems affecting society (and the very real risk of terrorism) instead of being making yourselves look like fools and deliberately spreading lies. After all:do you know what every Christian thinks or would do?
No.

ideally I think that every believer would like to have that. Unfortunately, that screws up our faith.... From Constantine on the church has had problems. I like having a God fearing president, but I also need one that takes care of all faiths and even those that don't believe. I would rather be around a bunch on non believers than a bunch of believers who don't truly need me or my witness.

Because it violates the Constitutional speparation of Church and State. As a practical result....you'd have civil war. I assure you that I would personally get a gun and fight anyone who tried establishing one.
