Then the city cant collect even more money off of expired meters. It really shouldn;t be illegal.

I don't know but I have been "chastized" for doing just that. I had a friend that became a meter maid a few years ago (political appointment) and it was popular to let the more expensive cars go and just give to the poorer cars. She would put money in the meters of the poor and ticket the rich. She got fired and could have cared less. . .

I know of no such law. All the city cares about is that money is in the meter, not who puts it there. I mean, the city would be elated if you would just stand in front of a parking meter and keep stuffing quarters in it all day long.

I watched on the news as an 80 year old woman was fined in Detroit for putting change in other driver's meters.

Because you are preventing the city from making a whopping profit.
I do it from time to time, especially if I see a meter person making their rounds. I'd hope someone would do it for me. I just make sure I don't get caught.

I was not aware that it was................sometimes have popped some into a meter when passing even more so if I see a meter maid on the prowl........lol nuts I know but I like the idea of pay it forward
