No, it didn't happen to me.... but to someone I know from out of state driving a car that doesn't require a front plate. So I want to know if the cameras take pictures from only the front. Thanks.

I live in San Diego, Ca. and they take the photo's of both the front and back of the vehicle. Your friend is going to get a fine and his picture in the mail.

Both. However, there is a surmounting defense if you happen to get one of these tickets. Several states have ruled they are unconstitutional because the pictures do not prove who was driving or who was actually responsible for acquiring the ticket.

Call your local public defenders. They probably don't handle petty misdemeanors, but they're always interested in making case law. Ask if there are any lawyers in your area who is dealing with this issue.

My homestate Minnesota is one that ruled they're unconstitutional. Good luck!

the take a picture of the front, to get a picture of the driver. they take a picture of the back to get the plate number. your friend should see both when he gets the ticket in the mail.

They take pictures from front to back.
You just get it in the mail, just pay it.
Or you will get a personal visit....
I don't think Ca. requires a front plate.
