My husband and I are pregnant with our first child. The rent here in San Diego is crazy!! When we have the baby, will his Navy BAH go up since he has another dependent? Some guys in his shop say that it won't, but I've always heard that it does. Anyone have experience with this??

No BAH doesn't go up there are only 2 rates 1 without dependents and 1 with dependents. If at all possible base housing is the best once you have kids depending on rank.

We are in the military too and my husband is former (16 years) navy and is now in the Air Force, Anyway your BAH stays the same no matter how many dependants you have. You can request a 3 bedroom from housing though. That is free military housing and then you wont have BAH....But it works out cause then you dont pay Rent. Anyway feel free to ask if you have more questions and Good luck to you and your family.

No, it will not go up becuase you are having a child. Bah is either with dependants rate or without dependants rate. The with dependants rate is for a soldier with dependants whether it be 1 or 6.

That's the site where you put the year, his duty zip code, and his rank and it will give you the rate with dependents and without. Unfortunately, family size does not matter.

No, it doesn't go up. If you move on base you will rate a 2br house now though.
