A relationship is always hard to let go of as it was a part of your life but just think how much better off you are going to be.
You will be treated the way you allow yourself to be treated. You let the jerk get away with cheating once, he'll do it again because you let him the first time. You let him stand you up for his friends, then he gets the message that you don't care and he will think that the next time too.
If you want something out of your relationship, say it! Lay the cards on the table and make sure you have a say in how you want the relationship to turn out.
The more time you waste on this jerk, the more chances there will be that your Mr. Right has just passed you by.
Clean yourself up and get back out there. Your heart will hurt for as long as you let it hurt. You can make a difference in how you feel; it's all in your mind and you'll see that your heart had nothing to do with it.

I experienced this..I was in a relationship with a guy that was a complete jerk to me and treated me like nothing sometimes. I stayed because of love...there were times were he was actually an amazing guy..the guy that I fell in love with in the beginning. I talked to my counselor at my high school about it also with the aide of some pamphlets and there were various reasons. 1) self esteem 2) the only person I felt I could talk to and 3) LOVE. In my case LOVE made me incredibly stupid..you do things and stay with people all because of LOVE. Also I know I did have some self esteem issues..after a while I got the help I needed with the help of my counselor my self esteem rose and I realized I deserve better than that and so do YOU. Also, the time and effort that goes into a relationship can be a factor. I hope this helps. Tried to explain the best I could, its kinda late and I am a bit tired:P

I'm not sure I have an answer to your question, but I know there was a time I thought my heart would break, I couldn't sleep, I thought about him all the time and I did some stupid things, like calling him, going to his house, checking his messages on his phone. I've heard it takes as long to get over someone as the time you were together. I do know if you get active in other things, hobbies, sports, volunteering or anything else you can think of, th hurt will grow less. I also thinks it helps to make a list of all his good traits and all his bad traits. If he really treated you "like crap" you need to remind yourself of that. I've also heard if you wear a rubber band and snap it everytime you think of him, it helps. I haven't tried that. You know you deserve better, dwell of that!! Good luck!

Because you keep wondering what you did wrong, when it was probably them. If the person hurt you so badly that means they did not really consider your feelings in the first place. Think about yourself (your good point and things that you have to offer to a better person) and move on. It may be painful now but you will get over this eventually. Find someone honest who will return your feeling and make you feel good about yourself

Probably because you are a bit in denial and or some shock. You may not want to believe that this person has treated you this way and want to continue to look past it - that's commendable, however you need to recognize that it isn't your fault that you didn't know they would treat you in this manner, and you aren't naieve for letting it continue. Take care of you and next time you will hopefully recognize these traits before you have to feel down again...

It hurts because it makes you feel like you are not as good as you thought. It sends your self esteem for a long ride. The worst thing you can do is brood about it. That keeps it hanging around even longer and also intensifies the problem.
Everytime you think about it shake it of and find something else to think about or something to do.

If you allow it to, it will go away

Because you invested a great deal into the relationship so the hurt is very great. In fact, you probably put a LOT more into the relationship than the person warranted--which is another way of saying it's likely you ignored or didn't see warning signs that the other person didn't respect you. It's very difficult.

You could strain your muscles in your belly or give yourself hemroids. As you get closer to your due date you could cause labor to start if you push too hard for too long. You need to eat a lot of fiber, drink a lot of water, and possibly talk to your doctor about a stool softener. Don't take over the counter laxatives, only take medications your doctor has okayed or prescribed.

My second wife warned me when she was 19 and I was 22.
"Don't let me know I have you. If I think I do, I'll leave you"

Years later she told me she wished she never gave me that advise.
I know the pain you feel. Maybe it's because we want something we can't have.
As they say the grass is always greener on the other side.
Maybe it's a feeling of inadequacy. We get rejected and wonder what is wrong with us. Suddenly we want to try again, we want to prove to them AND OURSELVES that we can be or Do better.

We have to convince ourselves that Maybe, Just Maybe it's Not us at all. Maybe it's the other person who has the issues.
It's difficult and painful. And unfortunately Just a hard lesson in life we all have to learn.
