Wear shorts and a tshirt or tank top and a good sports bra. If you have knee pads wear them, too, but don't worry about them too much if you don't. I play in a rec league now (used to play both college and high school) and usually wear just spandex volleyball shorts and a sports bra tank. I don't wear underwear anymore because I find the shorts more comfortable without any, but that's up to you to decide on your own.

If you don't have all the gear already, just wear what you're comfortable wearing to work out. Keep in mind that the coach will probably have you doing a lot of running and jumping.

I dont know about your school but id say wear shorts and a tee trust me when it gets down to the hard-core sweating youll be glad, if your uncomfortable wearing shorts then wear basketball shorts they cover up and are very airy and comfortable, i wore them throughout this years volleyball season practices at my school, dont worry about what to wear so much it will make you lose focus, focus instead on the game, youll be glad when it comes down to crunch time and your hard work will pay off no matter if your wearing " walmart" , if your games good people will respect you for you and it wont matter what you wear so take a breather and prove to everyone wal-mart rocks!
good luck!!

Haha, I'm like you too! XD Well, you should wear very comfortable and movable clothes. A simple fitted t-shirt and some athletic shorts would be just fine, plus your volleyball gear. DO NOT WEAR JEANS! And shoes you can comfortably move in. I highly reccomend clothes from Ross because they have some sports brand names like Nike and Adidas there for very cheap, so you wouldn't have to worry about them talking about you. :]
Or if you want, you could get clothes from sport brand stores like Nike, Adidas, Footlocker, etc. There's also departments stores like Mervyns, JCpenny, and Macy's. They're a little pricey though.

Hopefully that helped! :]

I have tried out for tons of sports teams! The coaches are looking for girls who are not afraid to look comfy. Like, if you went in to the tryouts with a really tight shirt on, and 2-inch long shorts, you will not be comfy, therefore, you will not play your best. So go in with a baggy but not yo baggy shirt and some basketball shorts or sweats, or something of that nature.

Okay, I'm a volleyball player, and this is what I wear:

1. Mizuno Spandex (black)

2. Oversized shirt (Any color, not too big, just so the hem reaches your hip bones)

3. Long socks (Any color, up to your knees to reduce possibilities of floor burn)

4. Sports bra ( . . . You get the point, right?)

5. Knee Pads (Any color, to reduce knee damage when diving)

6. Shoes (Something with lots of traction and non-mark soles. Try Mizuno, Addidas, etc.)

Hope that helped, good luck w/ your try-out, v-ball's the best!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm i kinda Know what you mean. I Go to a school wear you have to at least own a pair of nikes or adidas. Or shop at Hollister and all them... i mean ill be honest i wear those clothes and i have nike and adidas but i still shop at Kmart and walmart. So this isnt really answering your Question. but if People have a Problem with what you wear. i mean if they are your friends theyll understand, but if like they are aqaunitces.. like people u talk to but never hang out with well they should mind their own Business. i hate peole like that... Or i get really annoyed... But like where Shorts.or maybe jogging pants. and a shirt that covers the midsection.since you have to raise ur arms.. anyways hope this helps:)

I'VE BEEN OUT FOR VOLLEYBALL SINCE THE SIXTH GRADE. AND THE THING TO WEAR ARE SHORT SHORTS BUT NOT TO SHORT AND A CUT OFF TSHIRT OR JUST A TSHIRT AND V-BALL SHOES AND YOUR KNEE PADS AND USE A HEAD BAND OR BOBBY PINS TO KEEP YOUR BANGS BACK. THIS YEAR I WAS A FRESHMAN AND I MADE JV. SO YOU SHOULD DO GOOD. AND DON'T CARE WHAT THOSE GIRLS THINK OF YOU JUST DO YOUR BEST. AND WHO CARES IF YOU BOUGHT SHORTS FROM WALMART THEY ARE JUST SHORTS. OH AND WHERE LONG SOCKS.

uhm wear whatever you want, but what I always wear to practice are either spandex, or shorts, and then a loose t-shirt, or i cut the sleeves off of the t-shirt and make it into like a tanktop by tucking the ends under your sports bra, it's really comfy. And then make sure you wear comfortable shoes.

a volleyball shirt and spandex shorts make you look like a volleyball player. Otherwise shorts and tee shirt are fine. Tank tops look wimpy. Keep your hair in a ponytail. Running shoes and knee pads are musts!!
