She is 5 months old and we also have a 10 month old (m) Yellow Lab. He has started paying particular attention to her rear end but her behavior has not changed a bit. Se has a relatively high energy level and always jumps and bites on him. My concern is that suddenly he is paying particular attention to her hind parts. What do you suggest?

Usually female do not go into heat until the are at least 6 months old (and usually older in small breeds). I would just start keeping an eye on her and when she starts bleeding you have about 10 days until she is able to breed and I would suggest that you take and board you lab somewhere so you do not have to worry about it.

Also, your lab may just be getting old enough to start trying to figure out what girls are.
