Press releases and such are often "cleansed" and you would be surprised to know the amount of information that does not make it to the press even these days. Even so this is not a "declared" War as you would define World War II, therfore certain laws and war governing doctrines are not in effect or published.
Also remember, we must practice what we preach....

Rusty, the media makes me mad,too for some of the information they give everyone. The information that makes me mad is specific future dates of military movements. I'm in the Navy. People everywhere in the world would know when our ship was pulling into port or leaving. That is bad info. to release. It makes us more vulnerable. There should be laws against future dates of military movements. It's dangerous to the military personnel. My father is in Iraq. It's like the media either has no brains or doesn't care about us or maybe both. They want to report stories before other stations. Shameful..endangering people who protect and serve the country.

If it weren't for the news, we REALLY would be in the dark. In other wars, it was very hard to find out what was going on on a daily basis. Newsmen today, risk their lives to report what's going on to us. If the news upsets you, don't listen to it. I only wish more good is reported, rather than alot of negative things all the time.
