I have a cocker spaniel who is a little chubby and likes to sleep a lot. Then one day I notice she wouldn't move but throws some blood around wherever she goes. Four days ago I thought it was common heat malaise. NOw I am afraid what can I do?

Did the E-vet show you the x-rays? They should show you the x-ray and go through it with you so you can see what, it anything is the matter. If they did not show you the x-ray, I would be very suspicious. Some vets are known for just charging for things they don't do just to run up the bill. I always demand to see the x-ray if they don't offer and I also ask to see any results of blood work, etc, especially if I am at an emergency clinic that I am not familiar with. Also, bloodwork would have revealed that something was wrong. My guess is that they didn't really do much of anything and charged you anyway. I am sorry for your loss. I would make up a good case agaisn't that vet and go get them. That is not right for them to do.

If it's an emergency, how come your dog has been bleeding for 4 days profusely and you're still on the computer. Vet! If you were bleeding for 4 days profusely, where would you go?

Animals depend on us for everything and unlike a person they cannot tell us what is going on, but you do know that this animal is in need of help and yet you have done nothing. If this was your child, your mother, or yourself would you wait for 4 days? No! Take her to an emergency vet clinic right now. You can yahoo search one, google search one, or find one in the yellow pages but do it right now! Your animal is suffering internal bleeding and is most likely in pain too. You need to get it medical attention now or soon it may be too late! Is waiting worth the life of your pet? Don't read and type, get the address of emergency vetrinary care and go now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take your poor dog to the vet. Bleeding profusely for 4 days? If this is not a joke you should go to jail for animal cruelty. Dogs do not bleed profusely from being in heat.

I have had cocker spaniels females before and this is not normal. Mine never were like like that and I had 3 different female cockers. My suggestion would be to contact a vet. Sorry I can't help any more than that.

How can you post on here instead of taking her to the vet?? If you think it's an emergency then take her to the vet! Blood coming from a dog usually isn't normal so get a clue and take her to the dr!

Um....if your child were bleeding profusely for 4 days straight and not moving a whole lot, what would you do? Ask people on the internet for advice or seek immediate medical attention? I hope for your sake you chose the latter.....and that you wake up for any future incidents.

I got nothin' else...

Take it to a vet, are you stupid? If you can't afford it, please contact a cocker spaniel rescue group and give it up for adoption so they can find a home with someone who can afford to take it to the vet.
