I used to enforce prescription drug laws. What you describe is a felony, and the penalties depend on the state.
What do you mean about "going across the border"? DO you mean to get drugs in Mexico? Or do you mean, will they come across a state border to arrest your friend?
The last time I checked, if you have a prescription for drugs in America, and you bring back THOSE drugs from Mexico, nobody bothers you. Mostly because it's just too bloody complicated and controversial for a Prosecutor to want to mess with! Don't take this as legal advice, though. There are better sources for accurate advice on this.

Somebody sounds awful desperate for drugs. Yes, it's a felony .. you're talking "narcotics" - with a nice prison sentence. Going across the border to get drugs? .. You may not return to the States if caught.

its a felony hands down. this includes fraud and narcotic charges.
you may be able to get small quantity's of of certain prescriptions legally in Mexico, but when you bring them back into the u.s without the script, or a forged one, you just committed another felony (a couple of them actually) have that secretary stop and get some help before she loses her job, goes to prison, and/or loses her life

I take it she is planning on spending time in jail with Big Bertha on a felony charge as such meds are a class 3 narcotic which will get you in alot of trouble.

Illegal narcotics. I wonder what the answer could be. The "border" has law enforcement standing by. If they pick you-you could be searched-ever heard of a "body cavity search"? huh? sounds fun? keep it up.

I totally agree with the first answerer on all points. The DEA doesn't let things like that slide--and if caught in Mexico, you'll wish you were in a US prison.
