My plan is that I am going to use my cig. lighter for my LEDs. I am going to get rid of cig. lighter and install a toggle switch to control lights. Will this work and also I am new to this stuff so how would i go about installing this. Please give me details and pics if possible. I don't want to mess up.

i did the same thing for my car radio. after you put the lights where you want them, of course, hook the ground wire first to somewhere that is in direct contact with the vehicle body (floorboard, metalwork behind dash, etc). then run the power wire from the LED to one contact of the toggle switch, then attach the power source (a wire from battery or to the power wire that was used on the lighter) to the other contact on the toggle switch (make sure you put a fuse inbetween the power wire and the toggle switch so if there is ever a power surge it wont fry the LEDs). and that should get you set

Leave the lighter alone. Go straight to the fuse box. You will save yourself a lot of problems. Ground the - side of led to body of the car. Send new wire from + side of led to fusebox.

I hope the LED you have the current limiting resistors built in. If not, they won't last long.
