I have two exams tomorrow.

For one exam, I studied 12 hours over the past 3 days, but I told God I didn't need or want his help.

For the other, I did not study at all, but prayed really, really hard.

Which exam will I do better on?

If God "helps those who help themselves", why do we need God?

prayer has been proven numerous times to be ineffective

The first one because God helps those that help themselves. He is not going to give you the answers if you did not study, otherwise no one would ever study, just pray. There is a doctor that did a prayer experiment where some sick people wher prayed for and some where not.no one knew except the doctor and the prayers who was prayed for,not even the sick, and the prayed for did better

I remember that as a child, I heard a sermon on the power of prayer, so I went home a prayed for a cat. A pregnant stray wondered up on our back porch, and we wound up with 14 cats. I then decided to pray for snow, and we got enough snow to shut down school for three days (and stranded a friend over at my house that had been spending the night).

After that, a lady from my mother’s Sunday school class advised her to monitor my prayers, to make this stop already.

It is one of my mother’s favorite stories about my childhood.

-----------------------------
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

Several prayer experiments have been performed. The results on each showing that the subjects praying or being prayed for had the same results as those not subject to prayer.

Don't do prayer experiments or anything supersticious. One time, I wore lucky clothes and stuff to my midterms, and I didn't do as well as I ussualy do. I got C's, normally I get A's and B's. You'll obviously do better on the studied one, but I think you should do it in a more controled environement or with tests that don't matter.

The one you studied for.

The only thing prayer does is make the pray-er feel better.

The first one , from personal experience I can tell you praying to God doesn't help. He expects you to utilize the brain power and skills you've acquired and do your best work YOURSELF. He doesn't answer prayers like that. Trust me.

You will do better on the one that you studied on. God rewards us when we use our time wisely. To blow studying off and expect God to pass it for us, doesn't work.

It says in the Bible not to test God....I'm not sure if that's what you are doing but.....

well, you have to try for God to give you help, if you don't study and ask Him for help, He probably won't help you, but if you do study and ask for God's help, he will probably help you.

be careful what you say, you said you don't need or want God's help...just be careful
