i haven't seen my older sister since my grandma's funeral in 2003. i just found her on myspace. and i have no clue what to say to her. she means so much to me and lo9ve her and i miss her. but i feel retarded for saying that to her!!! some one help a baby sister in need!!!!!

it was my mom who seperated us. when she was 18 and i was 11 my mom kicked her out of the house. my grandmas funeral was when i was 12. i hadn't seen her between my mom kciking her out and my grandmas funeral. so us being seperated wasn't by choice. it was a forced action by our mom. now i am 15 and she is 22.

Well, you can either greet her enthusiastically and not bring up whatever it was that separated you, or...bring up whatever separated you. If it was a disagreement, don't let it start again. Just say, "I'm sorry we lost touch! I want to be sisters again! What's been going on in your life?" Just make sure to be really positive and tell her the honest things you've told us about missing her and loving her. Sisters make the BEST friends!

I recently saw my sister after 20 years. The first thing I said was "Hello, I'm your brother" then I followed up with "How are you doing?" after that the ice melted, we talked and I discovered why we had not seen each other for so long. Sad but true. The short time we did spend together was enjoyable but she is not the kind of person I would associate with on a regular basis. :(

Explain to me why missing a part of your family and loving them is retarded? You are doing the teenage thing of saying something is stupid or retarded when the fact is you are scared of rejection. Scared that she will blame you for things you had nothing to do with. Stop that, its ok to have love for someone!!!
Since none of this has been either of your fault she will probably be happy to hear from her little sister. Nothing is more important than love and family. Drop her a line!!!

Don't worry about not wanting to feel retarded for saying something to her. She is your sister! Just tell her how you feel. No matter why you & your sister haven't kept in touch I'm sure she must love & miss you too! Life's to short to wait for the right moment, right words and so on. I feel for you. My bro and I had a falling out in 2001 and I hadn't seen him since. Yesterday was his 40th birthday and I went to the party. I just walked up and said Hey bro and we went from there. I think if you feel for her like you said you do then she probably feels the same so just say Hey sis and see where things go. In families things have a way of working themselves out.

for the first time in six years i was able to see my older brother a couple months ao and now he has moved back near my family. It was hard to deal at first because u have so much to say and talk about that u don't know where to start but here's my advice, she's your sister, your supposed to love and care for her. just be friendly and tell her how much she means to you and how happy you are to have her back in your life.
