No. That would be stupid. Aren't all terriosts in the world killing for God? All these suicide bombers are killing people for God, right? They kill themselves, their family for God.

Not a chance. What sort of f'd up god would that be?
Let's not overlook that the bible records isaac and abraham left the sacrifice mountain in two different paths, and isaac never talked to abraham again. how can anyone overlook the trauma caused to the child by 'the test.' it's disgusting, really.
A rabbi discussing this story on Bill Moyer's show genesis said it's just an apocryphal story instructing the jews to stop sacrificing humans and to start sacrificing animals. It's all very primitive and stupid to apply to the modern day. No god in his right mind wants his creation to burn and waste their food to 'offer' him some.

It depends on the level of faith we have, we surely do not have the guts to go thru the killing of our loved ones. The time when Abraham was asked to sacrifise his own son was to check the level of his faith and he surely did succeed to win the confidence of his creator.
We wouldnt be asked or be called upon to do things that are way beyond our limits, by god the most merciful, to prove ourselves as being worthy. Abraham was one of the mightiest messengers of god so his test, if one imagines, would surely be a tough one- one that we can't pass. That does not mean that we stop strengthening our faith in God. God knows us better than we know ourselves.

God would never ask that. God knows your thoughts, right?
Well, why would God need someone to prove something God already knows? Why would he say thou shalt not kill and then say kill? And, never would I kill a family member Or worship anything that asked me to do so.

NOPE.
Jesus said HARM NO ONE.
more precice he said be as wise as serpents but harmless as doves.
In todays world there are many people that "HEAR" the word of god, but 99.99% of the time it is NOT God that speaks.
Unless it is a case of justifiable homocide or self deffense, We dont need to beleive anything that seems to be the commandment of God.
IF God wants someone to die, HE CAN excercise His OWN cup of vengeance, Jesus declares Vengeance is MINE i will repay.
But Peter said that WE are called to PEACE and Paul said we are to be separate from the government (politics) of the world. Yet many people in america have the obligation to be a part of deomacracy.
Nothing is black and white but most is all grey. Of course it is possible for God to command someone to kill another person but highly Improbably

If God came to me like God did to Abraham, yes, I would do whatever God said because God is Good and I'd have to completely trust him/her. Besides, God was testing Abraham's faith...so you see that he didn't have to kill his own child. And, if God asked my parents or sister to kill me...I'd say you best do what God says. LOL Also, God is my ulitmate parent, anyhow. :) Good question by the way.

The God of Christianity is about Love. Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice so this will never be asked from any of us again. Belief in God's Grace proves our faith.
May God Bless you.

Guess what mr bible man, you probably spend at least 5 days at work and only 1 day in the church. Who is your god? If you can offer someone a big sum of money without the legal hassles they would do it.

That is not a choice I believe God will ever ask me to make and so I don't have to decide now. God knows what I can and cannot handle and will not ask of me more than I am capable of.
