ok, so thsi guy tells me how much he likes me and i tell him that im not ready to date quite yet because im getting over my ex. Then when i tell him im ready to date, he says he wants to stay single for a while nd b friends. what the hell does that mean?

he also was going through a breakup and said that when i was ready, so was he. he was very compassionate and totally understanding, which is why all this doesnt make sense

Yeah, he feels burned by your rejection probly. Not that you shouldn't have said what you did. You were right to tell him you weren't ready, but he wasn't ready to hear that.
People can build up a lot of expectation about someone when they like them, but that all tumbles down when they find out the other person doesn't feel the same way. He probly was sold on you before he ever asked the first time, but he feels like you pulled the rug out from under him. That's good because that's reality, and he had built his hopes on fantasy. If he doesn't come around, you're probly better off b/c it would mean he has trouble dealing with the real world.

maybe he has gotten over u, or he just wants u too go after him!! who knows, but i think just remain friends with him and then u can see what he is doing and all that!
