I have thick straight black hair. When I go to get the haircut, many times people have told me that it's good that I have thick hair. Why? Is there a benefit?

well, if you have thick hair meaning you have a lot of it, that means you have more to work with, more styles will work for you especially with layering, and you will tend to have more volumous styles. thicker hair in the sense that your individual strands are thicker gives you hair the ability to hold shape better (curls, crimps, etc). thin or fine hair can be very limp and hard to style any way other than straight

I think there is a benefit because you can do a lot more with your hair if it is thick. I have very thin hair and it is soooooooo hard for me to get volume in my hair. Be grateful that you have thick hair.

Thick hair is pretty! It's full and there are lots of styles you can do with it. A lot of people with thin hair always try volumizing products to give their hair more life, but your hair already has it.

Thick hair is much better than thin hair, it you have thin hair then it looks all limp and ugly, and also when you get older you might get bald spots. Also, thick hair is much prettier, although it can get annoying. I would recommend getting your hair relaxed if you are annoyed with it, i have thick black hair, and relaxing it took some of the frizziness out.

So many people are losing their hair, balding and thinning hair among young adults both men and women is rampant. So if it's thicker to begin with, when you get old, you're not going to be as bald as fast. Also, you have more styling options with thick hair. Curl it, straighten it, whatever you want. Thin, fine hair is harder to get to do anything.
