War against China - Will US win?

(Economically, China is considered a self sustained economy, meaning without US trade they'll be just ok. Trade with US make them them hold unused billions of USD reserves, i.e. USD value in their hands)

China proves that they are capable of destroying satelites, as small as that 3 feet width thing.

Without satelites, US military functions might not be that effective. It will be more like WW2. Historically, (with the exceptions of Iraq and Afghanistan which US relied too much on Satelites technology) US failed on ground battles, Vietnam or WW2 with the Japanese. US clearly won that WW2 because of using the then WMD, the atomic bomb.

In WW3, powerful countries like Germany & Rusia might back up China. Not to mention others like Iran & Syria. ( N. Korea might not be on either sides, but given a choice, they'll target US more than others.)

The US is excellent at certain kinds of conventional warfare. The best really. But, in my opinion they have several weaknesses.

They are sitting on the worlds deadliest nuclear arsenal and refuse to use it for political reasons. IMO, if the US had nuked Tikrit early on in the war in Iraq, it would have saved hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives and stopped the insurgency. Further, I feel that if they nuked Tehran today, it would also save thousands of lives. Because if a low yield nuke kills 50-100 thousand people, what is that to the 500,000 more people likely to die if the insurgency continues, and what foreign government or people is going to continue an insurgency in the face of nuclear annihilation.

Also, the answer to this question depends on the conditions. Can China invade the US, capture its lands and pacify its population? No, no and no. Can they decimate the entire population? No. Can they neutralize their military force? Nope. Can the US invade China, capture its lands and pacify its population? No, no and no. Can they decimate the entire population? Yes, but they lack the motivation and political will to do so. Can they neutralize their military force. Yes.

Russia will never support China. Sino-Soviet relations are terrible. Despite similarities in their political ideologies, they hate and distrust each other.

Regardless. The question is moot. As Iran points out in words and actions. No one wages (conventional) war against nuclear powers. And to do so against the US with the most sophisticated (by 3 generations at least) air force and nuclear arsenal, would be suicide. And Iran should remember: the more thinly our conventional weapons are stretched, the closer we are to using are unconventional arsenals.

Countries which wish to wage war against the US are reduced to sending weapons and covert troops to engage our allies mostly. But even that is dangerous... as Iran is about to find out.

US vs Red China... Well, all I'll say is that it would be a crying shame because we would be fighting against a country that makes a LOT of the products that we buy (which is sad!) Therefore, a lot of their technology comes from America--one way or another! And that is because of a lot of GREEDY CEO's who are willing to send our jobs overseas so they can make more money at everyone elses expense. But the stock holders let them do it--that's the crying shame!

Of course the USA will not win. We can't even beat a bunch of rag tag insurgents in Iraq and all they have are basic weapons. China would and could kick the USA rear ends all over the earth.

the russians hate the chinease they dont trust them, we can knock out missles and satalites,
im guessing the chinease would get dumb and truy to nuke, in wich case no one will set foot on china for 10000 more years
ok example our trident nuke subs each house around 18 trident nuke missles witch hit orbit split into multiple warheads and each can hit a seperate target...define win the chinease cant invade us we can invade them

this is a fact, a country can never win a war if half of the country is against it, a country must remain together in the fighting of an enemy or therwise it is hopeless.

why try to beat a country militarily when you can beat them econmically by selling them cheap goods?
