safety is of no concern, thank you very much.

i was wondering if those cheap BB rifles they sell at walmart and kmart use the same mm bbs that the airsoft pistols use (6mm).

haha, im going out on a limb here.
assuming that machinery is of no concern...
(i've got a wwII lathe sitting around and access to cad based part fabricator and such/majoring in mechanical and electronic engineering; i believe i've got the means of part fabrication)

i just need a base blueprint to follow!!!
my specialties are more towards the design of motors or motorized vehicles.
i need something to base this project on.
plans would be nice :D

First, buy a machine shop and a plastic injecton molding machine....
Bud, you cannot really realistically build an airsoft gun from scratch. You might be able to re-barrel a regular bb or pellet gun
without too much hassle though. Maybe you should approach the problem that way.
Yes the vast majority of airsoft guns use the standard 6mm ball.

Why not just buy a cheapo and reverse engineer it? I've dabbled at airsoft for a year or so now and have never seen any hints of 'do it yourself' plans, but I opened one of my guns to do some tweaking and I don't think it would be hard for you to figure out.
