ok... this guy and i went out but then went on "break" because we both made a mess of things, he had too much going on, and things just got too crazy. we've been best friends and even after everything we still are just as close as ever and we still flirt like we always have but i dont know how he feels about me anymore... i've brought it up but didnt quite get and answer. i thought things were done on the romantic end but then i told him that someone else asked me out (and that i turned him down) and he didnt seem to take that too well... it seemed to shock him a little.

now that i've told you the situation my question is should i give him something for Valentine's day? we have this inside joke about toostie pops so i was just gonna give him a bunch of them... would that be crossing a line or would it be alright??? i really need input on this one... any tips on the situation itself would be helpful too. thanks.

i dont see that it would hurt to give a gift like that by doing that it might lead to finding out how he really feels.

Go ahead & give him the tootsie pops but as a friend not a girlfriend. And the next time someone asks you out, go out with him unless you just really don't like him for some reason. Then see how the first guy reacts. You may find that you like the one that asks you out just as much or more than the first guy.

Do as you wish; I am sure he would appreciate the gesture even if you don't get back together. I give my friends gifts just because they are my friends and giving makes me feel good; not because I expect anything in return.
