I had the same problem when I injured my back. The nerves run down the spinal cord and exit around the 3d or 4th vertibrae.. Then they continue down into your legs.
If you have a disk problem in that area your legs, butt, feet, will respond. It can be severe pain, itch, numbness, or just a tingling like your when your foot or leg has been asleep and is awakening.
You should see a doctor. There are two possibilities:
1) You have really hurt your back and will be needing some work on it. (skip the chiropractor until AFTER you talk to the MD)
1) You have just banged your back up and it is going to get better once the swelling goes down.
I the meantime, try motrin or aspirin for several days .. it is a systemic medicine and takes a day or so to build up in your body. But it will reduce swelling which is what aggrivates the nerves. Do not take it if you are allergic to it, but if not try up to 600 mg per day (motrin). Read up on motrin (Ibuprofin) on Google so you know what not to mix with it.
In the future.. get a back brace and learn how to lift properly. This is not going to go away.. its like having a week knee. You have to respect it or it will keep going out on you.
I didn't pay attention and spent 6 months in therapy just trying to get my foot to work again.. (all healed up now and a lesson well learned that I am trying to pass on).
good luck

Most definitely. Chiropractic works wonders for lower back pain. Your lumbar vertebrae or sacrum is subluxated (or a little out of place). This pinches a nerve which causes you pain and also depletes nerve flow to other parts of the body. I would suggest going to a Chiropractor that uses the Gonstead Technique. It's specific and very logical in its art. Also, I suggest doing this before going to an MD. They will most likely suggest medication or even surgery. Why put something artificial in your body rather than letting it heal naturally. If chiropractic doesn't work (Given numerous visits) then I would suggest seeing your MD.

Get new shoes with good arch support. When the soles of shoes wear down, that alone could cause back pain.
You could also try those shoe inserts. Make sure they have good support for the arches and the fronts of your feet. (just behind the toes)
Also, stop sitting on your wallet when driving or while on the bus/train.
If these methods don't help, try a chiropractor. Make sure you're referred to a good one though. If someone refers you to a specific chiro, contact a personal injury attorney in the area. If the attorney hasn't heard of that chiro, he or she is probably o.k.

You should approach acupuncturist, he can only treat. You may need rest. Is it possible to change this hard job?
You should enjoy less sex and take fresh proteins and animal fats. Eat only when you feel good hunger, so that fats will get assimilated and fill the gap between spines causing problem to you.
