I am looking to purchase a recumbent trike. I have a Sun delta, but would prefer a tadpole. I am a casual rider, and am looking for a trike in the $1500 range.

I am mostly interested in commuting and touring.

I have seen the WizWheelz TerraTrike Cruiser and the ActionBent. What are your opinions of these two trikes? Which would you recommend? Would you recommend a different one altogether?

The WizWheelz TerraTrike has been voted best trike of 2006 by bent rider on-line which is an endorsement.

I don't think there isn't that much between them. main differences 8speed verses 9 speed chromoly verses alloy and rear wheel size. Personally I think the both the Tw bents trikes (a division of China Mascot sold by Actionbent) are slightly better as far as the components go. But then so is the price. Nine speed parts are a bit easier to come by, so an upgrade should be easier (when worn out of course). You could upgrade the WizWheelz to 9 speed as well but you will need to change the shifter as well.

I certainly wouldn't rate either components as high end. Then if you want the good stuff you have to at least double the price of these

The word from TW bent in Taiwan is that there is a new model due for release soon. So I would wait to have a look at the new one. You could get an end of model deal on the current models

Good Luck

Well I own three trikes, and I've been riding trikes for a number of years and between the two trikes you mentioned I'd go with the WizWheel.
To many problems can occur when dealing with Actionbent and they have little or no support fore there product.
Remember you have too do the assembly on an AB and that can be a problem, so unless your a bike mechanic or can work on your own equipment I'd stay away from Actionbent. The other thing you may want to consider with AB is resale value ( not much.)

On a personal note, I have seen some of Actionbents equipment and it's my opinion most of what AB sells is low end equipment and of poor quality.

Sounds smooth. I referred to a lady driving one in the previous. basically google it. you need to be in a position to get one for three hundred money or so, because it wont want the most stepped forward elements or some thing.
