The American public has went soft. Due to the supposed need for instant gratification, if something is not resolved overnight and needs a little intestinal fortitude to complete, then they want to quit and move on to the next best thing. A great majority of the younger Americans no longer can comprehend the true brutality of war because they see graphic examples of it on television and while playing video games. It is a different situation than that of WW I or WW II. When we started concerning ourselves with the opinions of the rest of the world, it was the beginning of the end.

As for using nukes, that question is not even justified for an answer. Nuclear fall-out, the fact that no other country would then rule out using them for their own accord or purposes, etc. Nuclear weapons are a deterrent and a means to the very end.

We are ******* in the sense of females in the military. When I went to jump school in 1963 it was TOUGH. Only the best and toughest made it through. Now they have dumbed down the P.T. requirements and everything else so little girls can get those silver wings. Jumping out of an airplane was the easy part. Even basic training has been dumbed down. There is two sets of standards. One for the females and one for the men. But I will say a female could command a war ship are fly an aircraft. That doesn't take a lot of physical training. Although there is a lot of physical stress pulling G's in a fighter plane. Pilots today have to be brainiacs and computer wizards, not John Wayne's. But to keep the recruits they have in training today they almost have to coddle them to keep there numbers up. Keep the females swabbing the deck and changing tires and crap and don't dumb it down for everybody. Let the females train separately and bring back real training for the men. If a man can't make it give him a separation and let him go. I wouldn't want to have to count on him anyway. As for the Nukes, we have bombs allmost as destructive. The air fuel bomb is a real crowd pleaser. We didn't use it in Iraq are Afganistan. Chasing Osama through them tight mountain passes would have been a real eye opener for him, if it didn't get him. Instead we let local war lords go after him so as to be politicaly correct. We had well trained hard chargers on the scene ready to go. But no, our commander in chief wimped out so as not to offend any one. Naturually they took a bribe and Osama slipped through. So yes the U.S. has gone soft.

No!!! It has nothing to do with softy stance...not when the responsibility that comes with being a Super power and abiding by the standards it pursues for peace as well! Remembrer, USA has to monitor as many trouble spots around the world and apply diplomacy at the same time that demands stability...the enemy has no such concerns as they lack the responsibility a leader has on itsglobalshoulders which actually has been more caring than the enemies we are faced with.

We are just going through somethings that are very emotional! No one is perfect! And no one is tough...... You need to be apart of the US and stop trying to put us down! If you feel we are soft then get out and into your community and help make the US a better place

personally, yes i believe that we are soft. i dont know how else to explain it. but yea, we gone soft.....lol but of course, our soldiers are strong as ****!!
