There is nothing wrong with it.. I would rather believe, die and go to heaven then not believe and find out that i was wrong and live in eternal hell.
enragedparrot's: I guess that is the question everyone wants the answer too. But in reality no body can be sure. I have my faith and that is all I need. I'm not saying any other religion is wrong what I'm saying and the way I feel is to each his own. Ii chose my religion and it is what feels right to me.

Here is a news flash. When a person dies they await a future resurrection. ALthough while dead they don't know anything, they are not aware of the passage of time, the living know that time is moving forward. As time passes the living are aware of time passing, the dead are not. THe next thing the dead person knows he/she is being raised to life and will either be caught up into the air to meet CHrist at His second advent or will be raised to life with the lost 1000 years after the second advent and will then die again the second death in hell fire. Hell is where every lost person perishes (John 3:16) and ceases to exist for ever. Never to live again in any form any where.
Mary and the "Saints" are all dead and can not pray for anyone.
Anyone that tries to pray to these dead people will not only be showing their false beliefs and going against what the Bible says, but they will not be getting any help what so ever from these dead people. If they want help from their prayers, they must pray to the one true creator God of the Bible in the name of Jesus Christ.
BTW the BIble clearly says it is wrong to try to communicate with the dead. The reason it is wrong is that those you tthink you are trying to talk to are actually fallen angels and they will deceive you.

Would you pray to Martin Luther King, Or any of the Popes, Or any of the Presidents of America, or to Billy Graham, or to any Preacher or Pastor? Mary and the saints are just human beings like us. We are not to idolize anything or anyone.
If you want help with finances, relationships, feelings, sin, work, exams, etc. whatever your need may be, bring it to Christ Jesus.
Mary did not die for your sins, Peter and Paul cannot forgive you, no human being can do these things and to pray to a human being is Idolatry. I am sure these saints in heaven are grieved in their spirit because people are praying to them. These were wonderful people, but they were just that: People.
They cannot change the outcome of the smallest area of your life.
Ask yourself this question. Who did these saints pray to?
Follow their example and only pray to God Almighty.
Even the mighty prophet John was rebuked for falling down to worship the Angel in the book of Revelation. The Angel told him:
"Do not do it" I, like you, am a servant of God.
Give ALL Praise and Glory to God. This does not say, give God some of the glory, or most of the Glory, it says give God ALL the Glory.
Christ Jesus does not need our help or anyone elses help, to accomplish His will for us.
Pray to Christ Jesus alone.
God Bless You....Peace.

First, Mary as wonderful as her part in Jesus's life was she was only HIS Mother. As for saints, they don't help. Sure you can pray all you want, but if you are not born again then why. You must read the prayer of salvation to get saved.
You can also read in 2 Tim.3:15-17. I hope I gave you what you wanted. But remember only through Christ Jesus can you get to the Father.

There is nothing wrong with this. Protestants I am beginning to think have no notion of what being a member of the Body of Christ means. The people in Heaven are alive and aware of us on Earth. We know this because Scripture says that all Heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents. Also Mary is the new Ark of the Covenant and just like the old Ark that was brought down into the Jordan river to stay with the men holding it there she stands in the depths of the abyss waiting until all her children cross into the promised land -- Heaven. I just don't understand why the Protestants jump all over us about asking the Saints or our Blessed Mother to pray for us and then in the next breath they say to each other "Oh, will you pray for me?" like their prayers are so much better than Jesus' own Mother. You know I don't think the other disciples gave St. John so much flak about taking Mary in from the Lord's request that the Protestants do us and I am beginning to think it is just like Joseph's brother's , in the Old Testament , being jealous of him because he was from the wife that the Father loved the best.

Yes it is wrong, because you should only pray to God firstly and the other thing is that the saints or even Mary are all dead and therefore cannot even hear you, let alone do what you ask them to,(Ecclesiastes9:5)says that the dead are not conscious of anything at all, and when some one dies the Bible says for them that in that day that they die their thoughts perish.(Psalm146:4)and we already have some one that speaks to God for us, Jesus does so.

The Bible directs us to invoke those in heaven and ask them to pray with us. Thus in Psalm103, we pray, "Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word! Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will!" (Psalm 103,20-21). And in Psalms 148 we pray, "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his host" (Psalm 148, 1-2).
NOT ONLY DO THOSE IN HEAVEN PRAY WITH, THEY ALSO PRAY FOR US. In the book of revelation, we read: "An angel came and stood at the altar in heaven with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God" (Revelation 8,3-4).
And those in heaven who offer to God our prayers aren't just angels, but humans as well. John sees that "the twenty four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints" (Revelation 5,8). The simple fact is, as this passage shows: THE SAINTS IN HEAVEN OFFER TO GOD THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS ON EARTH.
Peace and every blessing!

Beats me. The very people who criticize the prepare of asking Christians in Heaven to wish for us circulate around asking Christians in the worldwide to wish for them each and each of the time. Why would fellow Christians in the previous the throne of God be much less waiting to wish for us than fellow Christians who're earthly sinners? of course we don't worship fellow Christians,m the two in Heaven or in the worldwide. that would desire to be idolatry, which the Catholic Church condemns in each style. On a different concern, to disclaim that Mary is the mummy of God is to disclaim the divinity of her Son, that's to quit being Christian.

Nothing is wrong with it. The Bible even says, "pray for one another" (James 5:16).

Just because the Bible does not say this is wrong does not automatically means it is right. You have to read the Bible to see what it teaches about prayers. Prayers in the NT were made directly to God or to Jesus. None were done through any intermediary, nor were such intermediaries even provided for in the Bible. Paul only appealed to living saints to pray for him, not to dead ones. In Hebrews, the dead saints (alive in heaven) are merely the cloud of witnesses that were examplars of faith in God, people who saw beyond the present to the hope in God.

There isn't anything wrong with it. Don't listen to what other people say, do as you wish. Who knows if any religion is truly right or wrong. Believe in what makes you comfortable and what makes you a better person.
I'm assuming you are talking about Catholicism by the way in which you speak about Mary and the Saints. As a Catholic I do not worship Mary, I pray to her for guidance. She is our eternal mother, so to speak. She herself had her assumption into heaven, and is right up there with Jesus himself. Praying to her, is praying for her guidance. We pray to the saints because they were living symbols of God's work on Earth. We also look to them to guide us down the right path.
Isn't it worse to ask people to pray for us? If we all have the ability to pray to Jesus, then why do we ask others to keep us and our loved ones in their prayers? Why in those cases is it Ok, to have multiple people pray for you. Isn't your pray loud enough on it's own?
