The knowledge of sin (the difference between good and evil) comes from eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Sin is relative. What one person may think is a sin maybe nothing to another. The understanding of what may be a sin is human originated and is simply being carnal minded (eating from the tree). So if one feels bad for doing something, they are judging themselves, but we are not to judge ourselves but we are to be born of God and let our inner Christ be our judgment call. But while one still feels bad, the sin (not forgiven) is still remembered by God. Only when one becomes born of God can one no longer sin and then all sins that one may have done are no longer remembered (blotted out, forgiven, however you want to look at it). So as long as you are still eating from the tree of knowledge rather than the tree of life, no sins are forgotten, by you or God.

1John.3
[9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Heb.8
[12] For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

John.9
[39] And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

There are lots of good answers here,To get to the bottom line the answer is yes,He will forgive us as long as we ask him.to. The problem is if we sin the same way over and over and think that its ok, and we do not ask for forgivness any more, then he will not forgive us simply because we did not ask .He will forgive us 70x7 in a single day..

Well, God, like us, accepts apologies again and again and again, but if a person does something wrong, and then asks for forgiveness just because they think they'll be saved, and they don't realy mean it and keep doing it, then eventually, I believe, God will not forgive it. Only when they make a conscious effort to stop and they're really sorry.

True repentance comes from a persons heart. People are held in bondage to some sins and yes, god still forgives them. God looks at sincerity of our hearts, not at how good we are.
God will work out every believers life for His Glory, in His time.
Some areas of sin are completely removed at our conversion. Other areas of sin, God uses to build up our character and our reliance on Him. Jesus died for ALL our sins, past present and future. Praise The Holy Lamb Of God !!!!
God Bless You....Peace.

"Ask and it will be given to you.." We just have to ask.
Jesus also told us to forgive our neighbor 7 times 70 times. He wouldn't ask us to do something He isn't willing to do.

But in Psalms, we are told that more than sacrifices, God desires brokenness - a reprentant heart. In other words, how sorry are we if we keep repeating the same sin? If the sin is the result of a bad habit, however, we need to do more than just ask forgiveness. We need to ask for God's help to start fresh and be willing to do whatever He asks.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Phil. (4:13?)

There are situations held for Catholics: a million) One desires to be fairly repentant. 2) One would desire to take steps to steer away from even being interior the region that opens you to sin from then on (as an occasion: if the sin if premarital intercourse, then go with to no longer be on my own in a room with that different man or woman) 3) no count if that's a mortal sin, you would be able to desire to admit to a clergyman and do penance Then confident, you're forgiven. If no longer, no you're no longer. Pray for God's mercy, and pray to be solid.

Yes, I think He does forgive, because he knows we have weaknesses and addictions. However, I think it is best not only to pray for forgiveness when you feel bad about the sin, but to also ask God to help you overcome the weakness that causes you to commit that sin over and over.

God forgives you as long as you confess that Jesus is Lord. And he will forgive you for this. You have to repent of the sin (express your apoligy and turn away from that sin to help you overcome it. It does take a long time to overcome addictions but keep reading the bible, praying, and doing what it says. Soon you will stop doing the same sin over and over.

If one has to reach up and touch the heart of God, that person will first have to apologize to that person who has been wronged. So do not expect to even be heard by God if this first step has not been taken, of asking forgiveness of the person who has been wronged.

God's forgiveness is always there, yet it is also conditional upon our repentance. If you are struggling with an area of sin, do seek help from the Body of Christ. Do not put yourself into vulnerable spots where you will succumb to temptation.
