In asking this question I'm not trying to be biased against atheists and religion followers. I just want a good opinion. And a "good" person and life just means morally good, with basic values and ethics.

I don't fail to realize anything! "GOOD" meaning what the scripture tells us? happy now?

Okay I apologize for being rude. =) But people must understand the purpose I have in asking this question. I should have stated it long ago. It's just for my knowledge and for knowledge of others of course. I just wanted to see how OTHER people responded to this question. It's difficult I know. I do have influence with Jesus Christ and God and go to a church. I admit that before that I felt free and uncontrolled from the rules of God and the Bible. I'm still extremely inexperienced and just wanted to know the opinions of others whoever they are; it doesn't matter their religious views or whatever. I just wanted their opinion. thanks for answering!

Would you believe me if I told that according to my Catholic faith, the answer is yes?
Since we believe that there are natural and objective laws of right and wrong, it's possible to live a virtuous life without benefit of religion. However, this is extremely difficult because natural law soon becomes tainted by worldly ideas and temptations.
For this reason, the best chance to live a virtuous life is to seek guidance.
The question then is what guidance is best? We believe that to be God, who guides us through his Spirit, through the Word, and by sacred tradition.

It is obviously not easy to lead a good life, with or without the influence of religions.

The gate is small and the path is narrow, and few are those that follow it. - Jesus.

Looking at the the world today with all the conflicts going on, how many "good people" do you think there are?

As to your question, it depends on what is considered a "good life".

I my humble oppinion it would be a life of willing compassion and forgiveness toward others. That has been taught by some philosophers and most of the world religions! It is just VERY difficult to practice in reality.

We find to many excuses or interpretations to suit our "basic instincts".

The world could (would?) be a much more peaceful place if all "religeous" and other "good people" would follow those wisdoms taught for ages.

As someone put it: To love is the answer - whatever the question.

Yes

This is an extremely vain question when you look at it.

It says that if you are not Christian you cannot lead a good life.

It denigrates and denies all other faiths and nations and nationalities.

Past, present and future.

Might be a good idea to rethink your question.

Good" has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with the way you live your life.

Good is based on spirituality, spirituality is not based on religion. It comes from within the individual.

Good people can be religious but not all religious people are good.

Or so I have noted over the years.

Go on line and look for some good people of other religions.

Yes, you can lead a good life without the influences of religion. However, in order to be saved you must believe in Jesus and accept Him into your life.

It is important to note: The first use of the word "Christian" in the Bible is found in Acts 11:26, "And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." It is found only twice more in Acts 26:28 and 1 Pet. 4:16. It is the true Christ that makes someone a Christian.

And how do we measure what is good? according to Chrisitanity there is none good but God. If we measure a man by his own idea of good we will have many who consider themselves good.
Who would be the judge of what is good? If a man calls himself good is this the measure? would we need a consensus of everyones opinion and if the majority decides he is good can we be sure the majority is right? Without an absolute righteous judge we can not know what is good only the opinions of man and one opinion is as good as any other is it not?

Look around. Everyone who is leading a good life is following Biblical Principles. They just don't realize it.
And to answer your question, No they can't. Adam was told how to raise his children in a Godly manner, and children witha sln nature are going to be disobedient. That is why parents are always correcting their children. To train them to be Godly. Over time, many of those principles were lost and we have the society that we have today! We reap what we sow!!

Of course! Religion is not needed to live a good life. There are perfectly wonderful atheists who do much more good than any religious person.

I hope so, or all the Native Americans lived non-good lives before Christianity or other religions influenced them.
