You know, I had the same question 3 years ago, and I just did it. It worked! I have had my hair red for three years.
What is fun about red hair?
Its an eye catcher, and there are so many different shades and styles. It really opens up the eyes and highlights freckles. People veiw you as a fun, balanced person, and someone open to trying new things. And it is definately a great conversation starter.
Cons:
Red hair fades more easily than other colors. Red hair requires certain colors in a wardrobe, you cant just wear ANYTHING, because red hair looks tacky when you wear certain colors.
My recommendation:
Hmmm... I say go for it. I have very naturally pale skin as well, but both light and dark dark reds worked for me :) If you do decide to go with red hair, I'd start out mixing it with some of your natural color, and if your going for a lighter red, add a lil strawberry or blonde as well, just to mix it. Its definately a daring move, but I think you'll love it!

Hi, I would suggest checking out the red shades offered by Natural Instincts (Clairol) because it is temporary. That way you can decide if you want to be a red head without making a long-term committment. I have changed my hair color several times and always find this product to be a good choice. Since your skin has a pinkish tint you may have to change the shade of your makeup to go with your hair if you decide to go red. But thats half the fun of it trying new ideas. Hey, I say, go for it. Good luck !

You could try a strawberry blonde which is more reddish, or go for reddish streaks in your current hair color to try it out first in a subtle way.
If you really aren't sure, but want an all over color, try a temporary tint, the kind that only lasts a few weeks.
Seeing as you are fair skin I wouldn't go too dark in the shade unless you want a dramatic effect.

Let me tell you my experience of red hair--from a blond. I Ferria product and loved the red for 6-9 months and then decided to go to a light brown/dark blond. It took me forever to get the red color out of my hair...it over rode the lighter color and I didn't want to bleach my hair. If you go red I would be careful with the darkness of the color.

If your skin already has a pinkish tint, adding red to your hair will just bring you one step closer to looking like a tomato! Instead, look for hair colors that are "cool" or "ash" tones. This will strike a balance with your skin.

Hmm. Tough one. Red looks great but it will bring out your red skin tones. My BFF just died her hair red and when a boy asked her to be his valentine she blushed and the red hair wasn't too helpfull. If you go red, be aware of it nature to bring out red tones. I think a dark brownie red could work. Or just brown. Blonde is way too common, you need to move on to something new. Try blue or even better pink for v-day and then suck out the color and do the dark brown/red.

If you are used to blonde hair and want to try red, go with a more subtle red, like a strawberry blonde (more red than blonde).. Bright red hair and/or too red hair may look bad on your pale skin, the light red/strawberry blonde would look great though. =) G'luck!

if you're seriously thinking of doing something dramatic like going from light blonde to a red head. you should consider a specialists opinion since they work with hair all day long, getting their expertise will help you whether to go for the dramatic change like that. things to also ask the specialist, will the color work for your skin tone, your current cut, things like that, upkeep.

Really dark red should be fine. Nothing to lose here. You dye your hair anyway so could always dye it back afterwards if you're not happy.
Best of luck.
