and he just won't except it.
He keeps saying that he will not give up on me and why can't I give him another chance??
Our entire relationship he has controlled me and tried to make me into the person that he wants to spend his life with.
When we first got together I asked for his guidance to help me become a better person, but he took it to far and ended up taking advantage of my vunerability. Which is my fault as well.
Now I am all messed up and don't want to be with him anymore cos I really don't know how I feel.
How do I make him realise it is OVER without being totally mean.
Being nice and explaining how I feel is getting me no where

That's tough b/c he put so much stake in you that he's like a burning ship without a raft. He's desperate. Since he has such a need for control, he feels impotent now. The best thing you can do is shut him out. He's trying to control you again with this behaviour. You have to be strong. Ask your big brother or guy friend who lifts weights a lot to help out by coming over if the ex is bothering you. Have your protector tell him to get lost. He's going to squeal like a lost baby, but he needs to know he can't get to you anymore.

First off get rid of him right away. Tell him the truth, now most guys like that will end up not listening. So be suttle at first then if he does not want to believe that then you have to get harsh. I always believe that the first thing of a relationship to work is communication! If you do not have that at the end then you might not have meant to be with your other half. Talk to him and tell him how you feel first then tell him that you want it to be over. After so that you don't think of him that much keep yourself busy so that you will forget him because if I learned one thing is that when you brake it off with someone and you keep thinking about them, then you will end up in the same boat again!

I think you should just say that you don't want him in your life anymore. Be honest with him. If he gets really harassing get a restraining order. or you could tell him that this is the last time you are going to say it, your decision is final, thank you but I want to be on my own. If he keeps it up ignore him. he will get the hint eventually.

the point is: you have to be mean at this stage. If he doesnt get it after telling him its over, then you have to look him in the eyes and say in a firm voice
"its over. Accept it"
Also, tell him you are already seeing someone else.
