seriously tho, the tootsie pop company put out a study that said that a machine would need 364 licks, while a person (on average) would need 272 licks to reach the center....

depends on the licker. I always bite my way so I would say 7 licks and a few minutes bitting and munching at it.
ONE OTHER THING.......you NEVER get to the center because it keeps getting smaller from the outside in.
