is there a specific name for the phobia of centipedes? not of insects- i love insects. centipedes aren't insects. they're horrifiying.

yes dude, you do get centipedes. my neighbor is minoring in entomology.
its not just that i dont like them, im horrified of them. like, i refuse to go down to the basement after i saw one down there...i tried but i started crying and hyperventalating...

There doesn't appear to be a name for phobia of centipedes.

Perhaps it's a form of herpetophobia or entomophobia?

hi same right here.. i'm exxxtremely fearful of centipedes too. very last time i said a really large centipede became interior my abode and that i in basic terms yelled . then my husband rushed to me and looking out nothin to kill it with i managed to snatch a large hammer and make him to kill it ... because then i cant sleep proper .. i even can see centipede in my dream ....and residing my phobia.

To the first guy you DO get Centipedes in the U.S. You might not get MILLIPEDES although I think they wander around too. They are two different critters. Actually there were centipedes in my apartment. They are creepy things I agree. Also really fast when they want to be. Anyone who has had them would probably not like them.

i agree so much, im aboy, i came home from vacation, saw a centipede and i was sitting on the floor greeting my cat, i scremmed like a girl and was afraid to do down stairs, all my cuzins are afraid of them too... ever since we were little tikes

I hate those things! I had one that was all hairy once when I first moved into my apartment. It was in the sink in my bathroom and I never used that bathroom again. It became the cat's room.

Hmmm...Maybe just stay out of tropical rainforests, and you won't have to worry about true centipedes. If it's in the US, it's not a centipede.
