The conflict is between Arabs and non-Arabs. The Sudanese gov't is funding the Janjaweed to basically exterminate the non-Arabs. And yes, the majority of these people are Muslim.

Yes but the U.N. says it is merely a civil war. we have been screaming for years that it is genocide but when you got people like Kofi Annan head of the U.N. who is going to pay attention? Place the blame on the people who are committing the genocide and make them face the world and make the "rebels" stop taking the food donations from getting to the children. seems that if people really cared about their country, they would not be purposely taking food from babies just to keep on killing over pride.

I do not normally support warfare. Unfortunately the only way to stop this slaughter would be to kill enough of those doing it to make them quit. whoever said this is a Muslim vs. Muslim war is not well informed about Sudan. Anyway, the USA should be involved but should not go solo. We did that in Iraq and it was stupid. The results prove it was stupid. Probably we would have been better off leaving Hussein in power with a crippled military that he could not attack other nations with and getting the whole world to help us take out the Taliban and actually catch Bin Laden. The USA and the world should not allow an entire race of people to be annihilated when we know it is happening. We have many Sudanese refugees in my town. I would hate to be them and see that happen to my country and my people and think that all I could do was run away to a strange land because I was powerless and the world did not care.

It is a civil war.
"After fighting worsened in July and August 2006, on August 31, 2006, the United Nations Security Council approved Resolution 1706 which called for a new 17,300-troop UN peacekeeping force to supplant or supplement a poorly funded, ill-equipped 7,000-troop African Union Mission in Sudan peacekeeping force. Sudan has strongly objected to the resolution and said that it would see the UN forces in the region as foreign invaders.

And yes its bad and but the Sudenese government wants no help.

It's fkn horrible what is happening there. I hate it.I have already told my children that when they are adults, and don't need me anymore I am going over there. I have time to learn some languages and take nursing. Hopefully by the time I am able to go, things will be better, unfortunately, there will be somewhere else that is bad.I hate it, what is going on in alot of the world.I can't believe the world is so screwed up.It's crazy.
