I've been intimate with the guy I'm seeing a handful of times, and it's always been good. When I went over by him today, he was friendly, flirty and complimented how I looked, but when it came time to engage in the act, he was... well... unable to. We tried several times before we just gave up and I took care of him manually. I spent the next couple hours with him watching TV and playing pool at his house, but he seemed very distant and not too talkative. Should I take it personally, or is he just embarassed? I tried to act like it was no big deal (and really, I didn't care... I still like him a lot) without dwelling on it. I want him to know that I care about him and that I care about him as a person, not just someone to have sex with.

Yes honey. He's DEEPLY embarrassed. I've been where you are before. Different men handle this differently, and it is hard to know just what they need. It's great that you hung out with him and did non sexual things.

He may want to talk about it later and he may not. I think what may be important is not to let it affect the next time. In his head, it will. He will think back to the last "failure" and worry himself sick that it will happen again. So, just make sure he is very relaxed and that you have no demands or expectations. if you appreciate his company he'll know this and that's really the best you can do. With each success he'll push the failure farther into the past. It happens to everybody some time or another and it's only biology after all. If he remains distant I'd bring it up and reassure him, otherwise let it go.

This is a sensitive subject with most men. Especially with a new partner. I'm sure he was just embarrassed. You might want to broach the subject at another time and let him know how you feel. Let him know you want to be with him and you know it's not gonna be perfect every time. Heck the next time it might be you that has a "problem". There has to be a better word than problem because it is normal, I just can't think of one at the moment. Anyway, let him know that spending time with him is what you want most and not just sex.

i think of he's merely embarassed. that's amazingly problematical for a guy to no longer be waiting to "please" a woman the "perfect" way. do no longer take it in my opinion. merely if it occurs returned, and he seems pissed off or uptight has you're doing it in different fashions, merely whisper it softly and seductively in his ear that that's ok. it continues to be exciting. Then if he seems upset after the full factor is over carry it up. tell him you extremely care approximately him, and that the intercourse isn't the main serious factor. that he's significant to you.

I can help. Im sure this guy is just shy, and probably wants to make the move himself. Some guys like to make the move first, and some (not this guy) want to do it themselves. Maybe he wasn't expecting you to make the move, but the next time you se him, im sure you'll get it on, because he now knows that you want to also.
