my car was running fine this morning on my way home i stepped on the brakes and it cut off and would not start again

It's a defective brake pedal.
It's supposed to stop the wheels not the engine.

that could be too many things. Can you still turn the light or radio on? If not, I would say since your getting no power it would be the battery.

A reason why your battery would die is because it is old or your alternater went out and you used what was left of your battery.

And if the car has power and just turns over, perhaps it is the starter?

well i relay dint know what to say, but on some cars you got a battier fuse, if that go out it will not start, also it could be the batter gone bad, ,,,

it could be a number of problems look in your yellow pages under auto repair have it towed it may cost you and get a free estimate good luck
