I had my eye-brows threaded this weekend. Very good result, but it was painful. The therapist was very professional and quick, but it still hurt. She didn't know of any numbing options, so I'm wondering if the world could help me. I really want to go back there but I want it to be less painful next time. I'm thinking of an antiseptic skin wash (Band Aid has one for kids) - it has lidocaine in it. Shouldn't that help me (or do you have to have dry skin for threading)? Anything else besides alcohol or tylenol :)? Thanks

Hey i get my eyebrows threaded a lot and i feel your pain (literally and figuratively!)
A great solution is to use a topical analgesic (you can find one in the pharmacy) that you find in wax kits. I'm pretty sure that Sally Hansen wax kits have this post-waxing aloe soothing lotion that has benzocaine in it. The kits are pretty cheap (something like $5-7) and the lotion will really take away the pain. Anyways, use this approximately 10 minutes before you go in for threading. Another solution (as weird as it sounds) is actually chloraseptic throat spray (yes, that stuff you use when you're sick). Spray a little bit on your finger and it should numb out a lot of the pain. Honestly the best bet is to pop 2 ibprofen before you go...but if you don't want to do that, these are the best means that I've found through experience.

I hope this helps!

Try Oragel or Ambisol. I usued it for my baby girl when she was teething and then figured it would do the same effect on my eyebrows. I used it and viola! i didn't feel a thing. Good Luck! =)

actually if you put ice over your eyebrow for a few minutes it will numb the area for a few minutes so it won't be so pain full while they thread, same goes for plucking.

Ice might work. I would not use astringent since it might make the skin, which is already super sensitive there, even more so.
