Modern autos use a combination of heated air and dehumidified air to remove the frost or widow fog.

To get dehumidified air, the A/C compressor runs when "defrost"
is selected.

Check your engine thermostat AND A/C system to see if they are both working as new.

If your coolant level is low, there might not be enough coolant to fill your heater core all the way. There could also be a trapped bubble in the loop that prevents good circulation in the heater; that would require backflushing the system to get that bubble out. But your engine temp is good. Low coolant usually means the engine runs hot, so maybe that isn't it. Maybe the operating lever from the dash simply isn't moving the heater valve - broken, bent, whatever. If the lever moves very easily, it's probably broken. If it is very difficult to move, it may be bent and the valve is stuck. Get a copy of the Haynes repair manual for your vehicle and see what it says about the heater lever. Get under the hood or under the dash and open that valve by hand, and see if the heat comes on. If it does, the lever needs attention, but it's a cheap fix and not difficult to do yourself with hand tools. Good luck!

I'm not a gearhead, but the last time I wasn't getting hot enough air out of the fan, it was a faulty thermostat. Check that.

Had the same problem with my Intrepid last week. It was low on anti-freeze. Just add it and get it to running temp and make sure it is at the proper level. It should be fine after that.

If the fluid level is ok, and the thermostat isn't stuck open, its probably a clogged heater core, either replace it or see if you can get it flushed out.
