This is something I've been trying not to do.
However, if I don't hurt myself, my body tends to hurts a lot anyway ( a lot more than if I actually cut myself)
Obviously, I don't want to cut myself because I've been trying to stop, and I haven't for some while.
I know this is psychological--Tylenol, etc., doesn't help.

first you should talk to your doctor to make sure why you are aching. discuss it with him/her that you you think it may be psychosomatic. It is great that you have been able to quit cutting- it is very difficult to decrease much less stop. Try exercising, which releases the same hormones that are released when you cut. This may help relieve some of the tension in your body. I've never heard of actual physical aches from withdrawal of cutting, so i don't know what else to tell you. Definitely start with your dr. to make sure it isn't caused by something else. Good luck and be proud for any progrss you have made.

You are just depressed. To get out of it, take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2 x day. Has 93 vitamins and minerals. Read a book or do some exercise. Stop focusing on yourself so much. ACV cures and fights depression. I know. I would not tell you this if it did not work. Do a crossword puzzle. Play a video game. Help someone less fortunate than you. Scrub all the floors in your house.

You need a loving, compassionate woman to wrap you in a blanket and hold you in her arms like a baby while you cry. Tell her what's hurting you. Do this several times over the course of a year, everytime you start feeling the ache to hurt yourself. Tell me what city you're in and I'll send you some names of qualified therapists who will do this. I'll even send the therapist an email if you want me to, in case she hasn't done this kind of therapy. But there are many compassionate people who would feel honored to help make a difference. Good luck and love to you.

Eat something fatty. You get a rush of endorphins when you do it, so if you eat something fatty, it makes your body make more endorphins. Try a bowl of plain oatmeal with lots and lots of butter.
